Menifee County High School. What do you think are some of the daily stereotypes that occur here daily? The worst judgements are made based on the type of clothing a person wears. Rich, redneck, queer, preppy, stuck up are just some of the words that are tossed around daily. Although we think that its not serious or its just a joke, the things that happen during middle and high school can effect a persons life forever.

Let's explore a little more. How do people outside of Menifee County feel about us, and how do we feel about ourselves?
Does our appearance impact how others feel about us? If so, in our peers minds, how much weight does our outside appearance carry in their minds?
For example, if we were to take a field trip to another state, with a culture and demographic completely different then ours, how would they view us? Would our accent be the first thing that stood out to them? Or would it be the dirty shoes and ripped jeans that spoke about a community that lives below the poverty line?

For the video portion of our project, my classmates and I interviewed several students. Each one admitting to stereotyping in some way, whether it was to their peers or other cultures. Every one of them said that people outside of our small community view us as redneck, hick, backwoods, out-dated, and ignorant. Although many of us are stereotyped, we still stereotype others.
